Michael Harris is a Senior Business Advisor in the Corporate/Commercial and Government Relations & Ethics Groups at Fasken Martineau.
From 1981 – 2002, Mr. Harris served as Member of Provincial Parliament for the riding of Nipissing. From 1995 – 2002 he served as Ontario’s twenty-second Premier, following a landslide election victory in 1995.

CHAIRMAN
Michael Harris is a Senior Business Advisor in the Corporate/Commercial and Government Relations & Ethics Groups at Fasken Martineau.

From 1981 – 2002, Mr. Harris served as Member of Provincial Parliament for the riding of Nipissing. From 1995 – 2002 he served as Ontario’s twenty-second Premier, following a landslide election victory in 1995. He was re-elected again for a second term in 1999, making him the first Ontario Premier in more than 30 years to form a second consecutive majority government. He is known for his advice on governance issues and government relations matters and brings extensive experience in public policy and government decision-making.

After leaving public office in 2002, Mr. Harris formed his own consulting firm. As President of Steane Consulting Ltd., he is an advisor to numerous Canadian companies. He serves as Director on several private and public boards, including Canaccord Genuity Group, Chartwell Retirement Residences, Route1 Inc. and Voxtur Analytics Corp. His past board responsibilities included Chair of Magna International, where he led the restructuring to a one share-one vote corporation; Element Financial; and Enmax Corp. in Calgary. Mr. Harris also sits on the advisory boards of several private equity funds including EnerTech and Beringer Capital. He received his ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors in 2005.

Mr. Harris’ passion for the community is shown through his involvement with various organizations and institutions. He serves on the board of the New Haven Learning Centre, a charitable, non-profit organization committed to being a Centre of Excellence in the treatment and education of children with autism. He has served on the board of the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation. He has also served as Honorary Chairman of fundraising initiatives for Nipissing University, Canadore College and the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

Mr. Harris is also a Senior Fellow with The Fraser Institute, a leading Canadian economic, social research and education organization.

Mr. Harris was appointed to the Order of Ontario in 2020.

Tony Busseri

Tony Busseri leads the management team in executing Route1’s strategic vision. Busseri is an entrepreneurial executive with a track record of producing results and shareholder value. He is committed to delivering Route1 solutions to customers and advancing excellence in the organization.

Busseri leverages his experience as a former principal of Growth Equity Partners, a full service business advisory firm focused on supporting small to medium-sized private and publicly listed companies execute transformational business initiatives.

Previously, Busseri served as a member of the Board of Directors, President and Chief Executive Officer of EnGlobe Corp. from 2004 to 2008, and Chairman of the Board of Directors, President and Chief Executive Officer of Waste Services Inc. from 1997 to 2000. Busseri is a graduate of the HBA program at the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University.

Peter Chodos

Executive Vice president, CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT

As Route1’s Executive Vice President, Corporate Development, Peter Chodos leads Route1’s acquisition growth and other strategic initiatives, assisting in the execution of important operational tasks and managing capital market relationships including debt funders. He also serves as a Board Director with Route1.

From August 2016 to October 2022, he was Route1’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and served on its Board of Directors. From September 2009 to August 2016, he was an independent member of Route1’s Board of Directors, serving as the Company’s Chair of the Compensation Committee and as a member of the Company’s Audit Committee.

Mr. Chodos has over 40 years of experience in capital markets, including private and public financings of debt and equity as well as mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. He received his Masters of Business Administration degree from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

John Marino is the principal of Marino Consulting, a Washington, DC strategic consulting firm with a client portfolio of domestic and international companies spanning diverse industries.

He brings more than 15 years of progressive experience in public relations, business development, and international affairs. This includes serving in leadership roles at public affairs firms and non-governmental organizations in the nation’s capital.

Marino Consulting has represented technology, cyber security, transportation, and manufacturing companies, nonprofits and NGOs, trade associations, and higher education institutions. The firm delivers government relations, communications, market access, issue management and brand enhancement capabilities that help organizations navigate the private and public sectors and position clients for favorable outcomes.

Chair of Audit Committee

Michael Doolan recently retired as Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Neo Performance Materials (successor to Molycorp, Inc.), a position he held since June 2012 when Molycorp acquired Neo Material Technologies. He served in the same position with Neo Material Technologies from 2005 until 2012.

Prior to that, Doolan served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Falconbridge Limited of Toronto before its merger with Noranda, Inc. He has over 35 years’ experience in all aspects of financial management, with specific expertise in international mergers and acquisitions, offshore financing structures, and international treasury management.
